Pen 2 Paper
There are presently no open calls for submissions.
The annual disability focused Pen 2 Paper Creative Writing Competition (P2P) is closed for 2019. We will re-open in February for 2020. P2P looks forward to our eleventh year of sharing and recognizing fiction, non-fiction, poetry, and comics on the topic of disability.
Submissions are accepted from anywhere in the world and from writers of any age, ability or disability, and writing level. One Grand Prize winner will receive $500 USD, and a 1st Place winner in each of the four divisions will receive $100 USD.
P2P's goals are to
- give writers with disabilities a forum where they can share their work.
- bring awareness to disability issues through the arts.
- challenge people of all ages to think, rethink, and express their stories, perspectives, fears, and discoveries about disability.
P2P is the ONLY disability-focused creative writing competition in Texas (correct us if we're wrong!). And while P2P is based in Texas, we welcome entries from other states and countries.
Each year, entries are evaluated by a panel of volunteer judges, and prizes are awarded to the top entries in each category. Winners and finalists will be posted on P2P's website.
Local and state sponsors and volunteers help make the competition possible by contributing their time, expertise, products, services, and energy.
Pen 2 Paper is a project of the Coalition of Texans with Disabilities, Texas’ oldest and largest cross-disability advocacy organization. CTD is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization with Federal Tax ID #74-2071160.
